This program provides an in-depth review of the role of End-of-Life Doulas. It includes the issues, challenges, and rewards around work with individuals and their families at the end of life. The course is designed for those wanting to work as a doula, are a caregiver, or are interested in learning more about the death and dying process. For anyone wanting to work as a doula, the program prepares you to successfully sit for the National End of Life Doula Alliance’s micro-credentialing exam and be certified NEDA Proficient.
The course also includes assignments and discussions on the role psychedelics can play in end of life care. However, please check EOLPC’s other courses which cover deeper dives into psychedelic care for those with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The next cohort of our Psychedelic Core Course for End of Life Care begins September 10. The EoL Doula Training is not a prerequisite for any of our other courses.
The course consists of 8 live, virtual sessions spread out over 4 weeks with additional assignments. Each online session is 90 minutes, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1:30pm ET/9-10:30am PT, allowing for time to discuss the previous session’s assignment and cover that day’s topic. The expected total time commitment:
Online class hours: 12 hours total
Pre-work: 2.0 hours
Homework/Individual work: 14-15 hours
Post Class Work: 2-3 hours
Total 30-32 hours
You are expected to participate in all the classes, but we understand there may be times when there is another priority. Each session is recorded and sent to students within 24 hours but please notify the instructor.
