End of Life Psychedelic Care
A Journey to Live For
EOLPC envisions a world in which birth and death are honored as sacred transitions. We believe the safe and supported use of psychedelic medicine can help restore traditions that recognize these moments as vital to our shared humanity.
To further that vision, our mission is to advance the legal, safe, and accessible use of psychedelic medicine for individuals faced with a life-threatening illness.
To deliver on our mission, we provide educational programs, foster connection, support advocacy, and develop programs that support ethical implementation.
Special Feature
Tricycle Day: Q&A with Christine Caldwell
Christine Caldwell, Founder/Executive Director of End of Life Psychedelic Care (EOLPC), was recently interviewed by Henry Winslow for Tricycle Day — a rapidly growing platform with over 70,000 subscribers. In their conversation, they explore how psychedelics can transform our approach to death and dying. Christine shares, “Death should be seen as a sacred journey, not a medical condition to be avoided at all costs.” She also issues a call to action: psilocybin and ketamine therapies can be made available now — it’s time to bring this healing to those who need it most.
Our values center on...
- accessibility and affordability,
- honoring the wisdom of our clients,
- providing balanced information,
- advocating for individuals' rights
- and respecting their boundaries.

Real Life Stories
On October 22, 2025, End of Life Psychedelic Care (EOLPC) moderated a panel exploring how four individuals met death consciously through psilocybin. In this intimate conversation, they shared their personal stories of seeking psilocybin at a moment when mortality was no longer an abstract concept.
We cover their beliefs about death before and after their psilocybin journeys, how their experiences impacted them and how their lives have been changed as a result. Their stories are deeply moving and provide valuable lessons for us all.
This panel includes: Arlene Tjoarman, Amy Slonaker, PhD, Jason Eftink, and Deborah Servetnick, MA.
Cancer & Psilocybin Therapy: One Man's Journey from Debilitating Anxiety to Equanimity
Thomas Hartle was first diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in 2016 and given an 18 month prognosis to live. Under the Special Access Program through Health Canada, Thomas has undertaken 7 psilocybin journeys since 2020.
Join Thomas as he shares his heartfelt and inspirational story, along with his belief on how his cancer made him a better person. He explains that, although psilocybin is not a cure, it is the reason why he has outlived the initial prognosis by more than 7 years.

The film follows Lisa’s experience with cancer and how psilocybin supported her search for emotional healing and inner peace. She and two other women with cancer participated in a legal psilocybin retreat in Colorado. The retreat featured in the film was facilitated by Heather A. Lee, LCSW, a Licensed Psilocybin Facilitator and cancer survivor herself. With compassion, wisdom, and lived experience, Heather teaches how psilocybin may ease emotional and spiritual suffering, offer moments of peace, and bring meaning at this stage of life.

EOLPC teamed up with Zak Arrington, PhD Candidate, University of Chicago, Department of Anthropology, to study the emerging field of psychedelic deathwork, defined as work in which practitioners assist their clients through psychedelic medicine sessions to address distress associated with dying, death, and grief.
A 24-question, mixed-method survey was distributed through the EOLPC and other facilitator networks. The preliminary results from the 100 responses and 63 responses from the quantitative and qualitative responses, respectively, were presented at the MAPS Psychedelic Science 2025 Conference in June 2025.
The White Paper covering preliminary results is available now. If you are interested in receiving the final report or participating in future research, please complete this Contact Form.
